SportCheer Scotland is the national governing body for cheerleading in Scotland, existing to represent, champion, and develop our sport. We are looking for individuals to join our Board of Directors with strong demonstrable skills in key areas with a clear focus on the values and culture of Scottish cheerleading. As director you will be vital to the continuing progression of SportCheer Scotland, helping to drive forward strategic objectives and contributing a fresh perspective to operations.
The SportCheer Scotland Board recently restructed in line with a vote by our members at our Annual General Meeting. We are now seeking to appoint 6 positions to the Board of Directors. The Allstar Director will represent the Allstar clubs involved in Scottish Cheer and Performance Cheer. They will look to develop relationships with clubs, event producers, and any other relevant partners to support the development of Allstar cheerleading clubs in Scotland.
Adaptive Abilities Director
The Adaptive Abilities Director of the SportCheer Scotland Board will aim promote and create opportunities for disabled athletes to get involved in Scottish Cheer and Performance Cheer. They will look to develop relationships with clubs, disability organisations and any other relevant partners to support the development of Adaptive Abilities cheerleading in Scotland.
The Development Director of the SportCheer Scotland Board will work to promote the development of Scottish cheerleading from grass roots to elite level. They will look to develop relationships with clubs, event producers, and any other relevant partners to support the development of athletes and their coaches in Scotland.
National Team Director
The National Team Director of the SportCheer Scotland Board will oversee the affairs of Scotland’s involvement in International competitions. They will look to manage the National Team to ensure Scotland is represented at relevant events.
Student Sport Director
The Student Sport Director of the SportCheer Scotland Board will work to promote the development of Scottish cheerleading for school and further education cheerleading clubs. They will look to develop relationships with clubs, event producers, and any other relevant partners to support the development of athletes and their coaches working within education in Scotland.
Three positions available. The Board is seeking to appoint three individuals from a range of backgrounds and skillsets including:
Marketing and Communications;
While the above skillsets may be beneficial, finding the candidate with the right skills and characteristics is our priority as experience can be developed within the role.
