Governance
SportCheer Scotland is dedicated to promoting, regulating, and advancing the sport of cheerleading throughout Scotland ensuring transparency, diversity and inclusion, accountability and integrity. We have an administrative Board that is hands on in managing the organisation with the support of committees, staff and volunteers. Our volunteer run organisation dedicated to the continuous growth of our sport, actively pursuing greater opportunities for participation. As an inclusive governing body, we strive to increase engagement regardless of gender, age, background, race or ability.
Our board responsibilities include:

Reviewing and refining the governance structure of SCS to ensure transparency, accountability, and efficient decision-making processes.

Seek partnerships and sponsorships with local businesses, corporations, and government agencies to secure funding for the sustained growth of the sport and support the achievement of our vision and mission.

Ensure all policies are legally compliant and fit for purpose, as well as actively encourage all clubs to adopt..
We have stringent minimum operating standards our members must to ensure SafeSport practice, including:

Up to date coaching qualifications (renewed every 3 years)

Safeguarding course

First aid

PVG membership

Public Liability Insurance

Safety equipment such as flooring being used and maintained to a high standard
